My Wedding Sitter Ltd (referred to throughout this website and related policies as “My Wedding and Event Sitter”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a company registered in England and Wales.

Payment and Booking Policy.
- Platform Role & Responsibility
My Wedding and Event Sitter operates as a booking and matching platform only. We facilitate introductions and manage booking payments between parents and independent babysitters for weddings and events.
We do not employ babysitters, do not provide childcare services, and are not responsible for the conduct, performance, or actions of babysitters or parents. All babysitters operate independently.
- Booking & Deposit Payments (Parents)
To secure a booking, parents are required to pay a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking.
Once the deposit has been received, the booking is provisionally secured. Parents will receive a notification to pay the remaining balance 7 days prior to the event date.
Failure to Pay Remaining Balance
If the remaining balance is not paid by the required deadline:
- The booking will be cancelled
- Any deposit paid will be forfeited
- The babysitter will be released from the booking
- Cancellations & Changes
Cancellation by Parents
Parents may cancel their booking up to 12 weeks before the event date and receive a full refund of their deposit.
Cancellations made within 12 weeks of the event date are not eligible for a deposit refund. To cancel or request changes to a booking, parents must contact us directly via the Contact Us page. Cancellations are not confirmed until acknowledged by our team.
Rescheduling a Booking
Parents may request to move their booking date, subject to availability.
To reschedule, parents must contact us directly. Rescheduled bookings are not guaranteed and are dependent on babysitter availability and updated booking details.
- Babysitter Cancellations & Replacements
If a babysitter cancels a confirmed booking, the My Wedding and Event Sitter team will aim to source a replacement babysitter from our pool of approved and last-minute babysitters.
While we will always do everything possible to provide a replacement, this cannot be guaranteed.
If a suitable replacement cannot be found:
- The parent will receive a full refund of all payments made
- Babysitter Response Time
Babysitters must respond to booking requests within 24 hours of notification.
If no response is received within this timeframe, the booking may be released and offered to another available babysitter.
- Babysitter Payments
Babysitters are paid within 3–5 working days after the booking has been completed, subject to booking confirmation.
Payments are typically processed on Mondays or Fridays. As most weddings and events take place at weekends, payments are most commonly made on the following Monday; however, this is not guaranteed.
Payments are made using the payment details provided by the babysitter at sign-up. Babysitters are responsible for ensuring their payment details are accurate and up to date.
- Tax & Financial Responsibility (Babysitters)
Babysitters are responsible for:
- Declaring and managing their own income
- Paying any applicable tax, National Insurance, or other contributions
- Complying with all relevant legal and financial obligations
My Wedding and Event Sitter does not provide tax advice and accepts no responsibility for babysitters’ tax or financial arrangements.
Payment and Booking Policy.
- Working Hours & Additional Time
Bookings and payments are based solely on the pre-agreed hours confirmed at the time of booking.
If a babysitter works beyond the agreed booking hours:
- Any discussion regarding additional time or payment must take place directly between the babysitter and the parent
- Any additional payment must be arranged outside of the platform
- My Wedding and Event Sitter does not manage, process, or mediate additional payments or disputes relating to extended hours
- Platform Fees (Babysitters)
- Free profile babysitters:
A 15% platform fee is deducted from each completed booking. - Subscription babysitters (£5.99 per month):
Babysitters keep 100% of their booking earnings and receive additional benefits as outlined on the platform.
- Disputes
My Wedding and Event Sitter does not mediate disputes relating to:
- Additional hours worked
- Payments made outside the platform
- Conduct or disagreements during a booking
We may provide platform-related support where appropriate but do not act as a third party in private disputes.
- Agreement to Policy
By using My Wedding and Event Sitter, parents and babysitters confirm they have read, understood, and agreed to this Booking & Payment Policy, along with our Terms and Conditions.
